Global Wales offered opportunity for five Vietnamese partner universities to learn UK best practice and models and develop capacity for Vietnamese higher education leaders in building effective strategic partnership with industry in research, technology, innovation and skills development. Effective models implemented at Welsh universities were introduced to delegates and included:
Kess2 project: Helps prepare academics to engage with industry. Bangor University developed the Kess2 model which places the importance of aligning university research with the need of small and medium business and public services. The model also helps provide opportunities for postgraduate researchers and academics to enhance their research skills and support the commercialisation of their research among businesses. Please visit http://kess2.ac.uk for more information.
Network75RK: The scheme combines work and study routes for selected students to enable learners to consolidate learning through practical application and develop skills for the world of work. The scheme is run by the University of South Wales on STEM areas. Visit the university website for more information.
