A modern university offering practice-led courses that prepare students for life after graduation
The University of South Wales, known as USW, is a modern and ambitious university that was established in 2013 after a merger between the University of Glamorgan and the University of Wales, Newport. The University has three campuses across the Cardiff Capital Region, in Pontypridd, Newport, and Cardiff itself. All are within easy reach of the city, countryside, and coast, and there’s a range of accommodation both on and off-campus.
USW puts great effort into preparing students for life after graduating. It offers a wide array of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, many courses have also been accredited by professional bodies. One of the most high-rated training courses is Music and The Dramatic Art of Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama – a part of the University of South Wales Group.
The University ranked 10th out of 131 UK universities for postgraduate studies (Whatuni Student Choice Awards 2019) and was awarded the Cyber University of the Year, 2019 (National Cyber Awards). 95% of graduates are in work or further study within six months of graduation (Destination of Leavers from Higher Education, 2017).
