To the fashion world, people may not know London Fashion Week, one of the four biggest fashion events together with New York, Milan and Paris. But a nation, this event is beyond that to be a cultural exchange event in order to strengthen the friendship between UK and other countries.
London Fashion Week takes place from 14 to 18 February this year. One of its highlight events is International Fashion Showcase (IFS) starting from 13 – 23 February 2014. The International Fashion Showcase is a joint initiative of the British Council and the British Fashion Council, to showcase the works of emerging international fashion designers. In the past two years, 40 countries and more than 200 fashion designers have taken part in this prestigious and inspiring event. This year, Nguyen Minh Giang Tu, the winner of Aquafina Pure Fashion 2013 will represent Vietnam participating in this event. His presentation will be supported by Cong Tri – the first Vietnamese designer attended IFS 2013.
Representing Vietnam at the International Fashion Showcase – London Fashion Week 2014, Giang Tu introduces to the world and its fashion fans a collection called “The Dreamers”. True to its name, the collection was inspired by the images of dreamers. Dreamers can only see things in black and white. Only when they are woken up, the dreams will put on a spectrum of colours, in other words, the youths are truly living once their purpose of life is identified. Giang Tu’s collection promises to bring an element of surprise to the event as well as highlighting Vietnam’s fast developing fashion industry to the world.
