  • 92 per cent of graduates from Welsh universities found employment within six months of leaving university
  • Wales enjoys some of the lowest living costs in Britain
  • There are about 129.000 students studying at universities in Wales, of which about 22,000 are international students from 132 countries.
  • More than three-quarters of research conducted at Welsh universities was judged to be ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’ according to Research Excellent Framework (REF)
  • Wales has a rich and varied cultural heritage, with six UNESCO world heritage sites.

As part of the world-renowned UK higher education system, Welsh universities are not only top destinations for quality higher education qualifications, they also leave great impressions on international students for their stunning locations and affordable living costs. 

To help young people learn about the benefits and opportunities to study at eight universities in Wales, the British Council is cooperating with Universities Wales to launch the programme Study in Wales.
