As an organisation that offers life-changing opportunities through delivering millions of exams annually, we are delighted to support these outstanding individuals to realise their dreams of pursuing higher education abroad, expand their understanding of the world, and then return home with new knowledge, improved confidence and fresh insights.” said Trish Thomson, Regional Marketing Director, East Asia. 'With more than 10,000 universities, schools, employers and immigration bodies recognising IELTS, it continues to play a critical global role as the world’s most popular English language proficiency test for higher education and global migration. In the past year, more than three million IELTS tests have been taken globally, making it the world’s most popular language test of its kind. The popularity and global recognition of IELTS positions it as the ideal choice of English proficiency test for those wishing to pursue their aspirations through international educational opportunities.'
The Regional Grand Prize Winner 2017/18, Dinda Royhan, currently pursuing a Master of Human Rights and Humanitarian Action at Sciences Po, notes 'I went to public schools in Indonesia where Bahasa Indonesia is the official medium of instructions, taking IELTS was the best way for me to demonstrate my ability to study abroad in English. To be very frank, I did not expect to obtain a high IELTS score simply because Bahasa Indonesia is the only language that I’ve ever used academically. Scoring 8.5 in IELTS was very empowering and made my application to Sciences Po more attractive, as the university receives thousands of applications from all over the world each year. I strongly encourage students planning to study abroad take IELTS with the British Council as it unlocks unlimited opportunities you never imagined possible.'
