Our Teaching Centre Team in Ho Chi Minh City is seeking suitable candidates for the post of Senior Teaching Assistant. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work with our teachers, supporting them both inside and outside of the classroom. As well as a pastoral role, they may also have to ensure smooth coordination with Teaching Centre Team to make sure high performance of teaching assistants and children are supported during their learning with the British Council and are treated based on our EDI, special educational needs inclusion and child protection policy.

Role overview

  • Applicants should meet the following requirements: 
  • Good level of English and Vietnamese (equal to IELTS 6.0/Upper Intermediate and above)
  • Good academic records
  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant for at least one year or experience of working with children in another relevant role
  • Good leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a way that promotes the safety and well-being of children
  • Experience of working as part of a team
  • Experience of customer service with both children and parents
  • Good office IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Explorer)
  • Be available for at least 20 hours of work per week
  • Commitment to work continuously for at least one year
  • Ability to demonstrate the British Council Behaviours: Working together, Being accountable, Connecting with others and Making things happen (all at essential level)
  • The applicant needs to be able to prove that he/she has no civil or criminal records of any nature relating to any allegation or conviction concerning any type of harm to a child or children by providing a valid criminal record check issued by the Ministry of Justice after getting the job. 

TERM OF SERVICE

This is a non-employment position based on a service provider contract. Service Fee: VND68,000 per hour, together with experience of a dynamic, international working environment, training, and career development opportunities.
