New Directions in English Language Assessment is the British Council’s flagship language testing and assessment conference. Since its establishment in 2013, the conference has celebrated eight editions, providing perspectives and insight on trends and approaches in English language assessment at a local, regional, and international level.
In 2016, New Directions was held in Hanoi, and you can still watch many of the sessions from that year on our You Tube channel, which will give you a flavour of the conference.
New Directions welcomes local, regional and international policy makers, educational professionals, academics, teachers and assessment practitioners who are interested in hearing from experts, exchanging ideas, and expanding your network.
There are two ways to participate：
- standard pass, which provides access to all sections in the conference
- complimentary pass, which provides access to all the accepted academic papers breakout sessions and a selection of Spotlight, Plenary, and Panel Discussion sessions
