The British Council in Vietnam is delighted to invite all UK alumni, who are Vietnamese citizen to apply for the Alumni UK Vietnam Challenge Fund 2023. The Challenge Fund is designed to engage alumni in championing Alumni UK, a new and valuable global network for people around the world who hold a UK degree.

Overview on Alumni UK Networking 2023 – Bridging Opportunities

The inaugural Alumni UK Networking is an exclusive a half day event for all UK alumni in Vietnam to: 

  • share cultural, economic, developmental and organisational insights that impact our world today
  • build greater connectivity through professional networking and knowledge sharing. 

The Networking will offer UK alumni with relevant professional development and the opportunity to re-connect with others to strengthen the Alumni UK Network in Vietnam.

Date of the Alumni UK Networking

The Networking event will be held on: 

  • 10 March 2023 in Hanoi at Dolce by Wyndham Hanoi Hotel, B7 Giang Vo, Ba Dinh, Hanoi) 
  • 17 March 2023 in Ho Chi Minh City at British Consulate General Ho Chi Minh city, 25 Le Duan, District 1
  • 25 March 2023 in Danang at VN–UK Institute, 158A Le Loi, Hai Chau District.

About the Alumni UK Vietnam Challenge Fund 2023

In conjunction with the Alumni UK Networking event, the British Council in Vietnam is delighted to invite all UK alumni, who are Vietnamese citizen to apply for the Alumni UK Vietnam Challenge Fund 2023.

The Challenge Fund is designed to engage alumni in championing Alumni UK, a new and valuable global network for people around the world who hold a UK degree.

Five shortlisted applicants will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas and solutions for the development of a sustainable Alumni UK network in Vietnam to a panel of judges drawn from across the education, communication and corporate sectors.

The winner of the Alumni UK Vietnam Challenge Fund will be announced at the Alumni UK Gala Dinner in three cities (Hanoi, Danang and HCMC).

An award of £10,000 will be allocated to enable the implementation of the winning idea. The five finalists will each receive a certificate of appreciation.

Applying for the Challenge Fund

Applicants will be asked to consider innovative solutions for a sustainable network to enable UK alumni in Vietnam to:

  • stay connected
  • boost their professional and social networks
  • create opportunities that enable them to excel in their lives and professions.

The call for Challenge Fund proposals is now open and the application form and guidelines are available below.

The submission of ideas must be made on the application form. An individual or group submission from UK Alumni in Vietnam will be accepted*.

*Individual applicants must be Vietnamese UK graduates and 80 per cent of individuals in group or organisational submissions must be UK graduates.
