The Vietnam Language Assessment Symposium is an event providing insights into English language assessment issues and trends in Vietnam. VLAS aims to provide an accessible space for educators to exchange diverse perspectives on language assessment in this dynamic context.

Following the first VLAS in 2017, the British Council and the National Foreign Language Project (Vietnam Ministry of Education and Training) are proud to present the second VLAS to be held in Hanoi on 16 and 17 November 2019. The focus is on connecting testing and teaching from both formative and high-stakes assessment perspectives. The two-day event includes workshops, plenary sessions and panel discussions, as well as smaller breakout group sessions which provide local researchers and teachers an opportunity to present their insights and perspectives. The Symposium also serves as a link to other key events on the regional language assessment calendar and, in particular, the 2019 British Council East Asia New Directions to be held in Yokohama, Japan on 8 and 9 December. Learn more about New Directions 2019 conference
