HA NOI – The Study UK Pre-departure briefing is back for the year of 2025. In its 18th year in Viet Nam, the event will be held in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, on Saturday 16 and Saturday 23 August respectively. This year, the Pre-departure briefing is a collaborative effort between British Council Viet Nam, the Vietnamese Student Association in the United Kingdom (SVUK), the UK Alumni Association in Vietnam (UKAV), and the event partners, HSBC and Uhomes.

The British Council organise the Pre-departure briefings annually to provide essential information to all students in East Asian countries, including Viet Nam, who have received an offer from UK institutions. Every year, the programme has given hundreds of students the help they need to study and thrive in the UK.

A student who attended the Study UK Pre-departure briefing 2024 shared: 'I think the aspect that impressed me the most in this event is the fact that I was able to talk to UK alumni from different colleges and universities and having them provide young students like us with advice and directions so that we can have the best possible head start’.

To help Viet Nam’s new overseas students be better prepared for their Study UK journey, Pre-departure briefing 2025 is designed for those who are going to study A Level, Undergraduate, and Postgraduate courses in the UK. The event is an opportunity for students to garner advice from stories and experiences shared by current international students studying in the UK.

‘The UK stands as one of the world’s most trusted and sought-after study destinations, attracting over 500,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students each year. As you begin this exciting chapter, they’ll? connect with peers from diverse backgrounds across the globe. We know that the start of this journey can feel overwhelming—that’s why our Pre-Departure Briefing is here to support them?, offering valuable guidance on university life, travel, social opportunities, and everything you need to thrive while studying in the UK', said James Shipton, Director Viet Nam, British Council.
