Role overview
We are looking for enthusiastic teachers of English to join our professional teaching team in Ho Chi Minh City, where we have recently moved to a specialised centre operating model.
There are two roles available: Adult EFL specialist, or Young Learner EFL specialist, and you are asked to state your preference in your application form.
You will have a minimum of a first degree, an initial TEFL qualification (CELTA or Trinity Certificate), and two years of post-certificate experience in the area of specialism you wish to apply for. Preference will be given to candidates who are already diploma qualified (DELTA or Trinity Diploma), or candidates who show a strong interest in committing to further training and development. You must also be a highly proficient user of English.
As a member of a teaching team in a specialised centre, you will deliver high quality lessons on either our Young Learner courses (Primary: 6-10; Secondary: 11-14; and Upper Secondary High School: 15-17), or in our adults centre, where, alongside high school courses we teach general English through the British Council myClass model, as well as IELTS preparation courses, and corporate (ESP) training.
We are committed to continuing professional development, and there are opportunities for teachers to participate in INSETTs, receive funding and support for the Trinity Diploma and receive YL training (TYLEC) as well as train to be an IELTS examiner. There are also funding schemes to support teachers on master’s level studies, and opportunities to get involved in ELT projects and other non-teaching work.
