Primary Plus - Improved primary English course

What is primary plus (P1-P6)

Primary Plus is a six level course series which aims to develop young children’s confidence in communicating in English while considering the child’s development into a mature individual.

All courses are module-based with age-appropriate themes and topics that match with child development stages. Children will learn English language and skills for life through participating in a variety of tasks and projects in a positive learning environment.

Primary Access – grades 4 and 5

For students needing extra support in gaining confidence in using English, we also run Primary Access courses for grade 4 and 5 students. In these courses students will learn the building blocks of the language to ensure that they have a deep understanding of English in preparation for secondary school study.

Five reasons your child should study Primary Plus:

  • Example of a module: Making a difference (P5)

In this module, children talk about what they think they can do or the environment themselves, and what others can do.

End of Module task: Children plan and give a short presentation about an invention that can help the environment.

    Whole Child Learning Goals:

    • Leadership: demonstrating self-confidence in class discussions.
    • Citizenship: developing an understanding of environmental sustainability

Learning Time with Shaun the Sheep: children get to see how the farmer helps save the environment by using wind energy.

Effective learning and teaching

Our courses are designed to expand children’s capabilities step by step and build up their confidence. In each level of Primary Plus there is a balance of the four language skills with an emphasis on grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation to support your child’s skills development.

All of our teachers are trained by the British Council to deliver excellent quality classes to your children.

Equip your child with skills for life

Our courses support children in their personal, social and emotional development as well as in developing important life skills, including:

  • creativity and imagination
  • leadership and personal development
  • citizenship
  • critical thinking and problem solving

A positive learning environment

We use a variety of stimulating materials and activities such as games, stories, music and engaging tasks that employ logic and higher order thinking to appeal to different learning styles.

A clear sense of progress

Parents will be able to see their child’s progress through modular assessment of real life tasks with measurable outcomes.

Primary Plus online portal

The learning activities on the Primary Plus portal are specially designed for grammar and vocabulary training with language learning games that unlock once students reach a certain level of progress, and video content for skills practice and fun.
