The British Council is pleased to announce that on 18 November 2022 the Ministry of Education and Training has approved our application for the resumption of the delivery of IELTS testing according to the provisions of Circular No. 11/2022/TT-BGDĐT and Decree No. 86/2018/ND-CP. We acknowledge the support and guidance from the Ministry of Education and Training to enable us to resume testing in a timely manner. 

The British Council will reach out to all affected test takers directly by email to share further details of the resumption of their IELTS tests. We also welcome new test takers to register for the test with us at British Council approved test venues. 

We sincerely thank all our IELTS test takers for their patience and understanding, and we look forward to receiving them at our British Council test venues soon.

Aptis ESOL

The British Council is delighted to announce that Aptis ESOL, a secure global English language exam developed by leading British Council language assessment experts, is now approved by the Ministry of Education and Training, following the provision of Decision No 3646/QĐ-BGDĐT dated 11 November 2022.

Aptis ESOL is a four-skills, computer-based English test, evaluating listening, reading, speaking and writing skills as well as grammar and vocabulary knowledge. Delivered in supervised face-to-face test sessions, Aptis ESOL test specifications, tasks and rating scales are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Aptis ESOL is regulated by the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual) and it is trusted by many governments, educational institutions and employers around the world.
