The British Council has a presence in 14 countries in the East Asia region. These range from developed markets with sophisticated infrastructures (Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore, Japan, ANZ, Taiwan) to developing markets with fledgling but growing infrastructure (China, Malaysia, Thailand, Burma, Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam).
In Vietnam, the British Council is active in English and Exams with four teaching centres, and manages programmes in Education, Society, and English for Education Systems, Arts, and the UK-Vietnam Seasons project. The country currently has about 200 full-time staff members in the Strategic Business Units, of whom about two-thirds currently work in English and Exams.
Our Finance team in Ho Chi Minh City is recruiting an Accounting Executive to provide financial support to our busy operations there.
Working on a fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension or renewal, the Accounting Executive will be responsible for supporting a range of financial functions including accounts payable and receivable, tax affairs, financial accounting and banking, using our SAP-based financial system.
Suitable applicants for this job will need to have at least three years’ experience working in the corporate accounting function of a multi-national organisation as well as a degree in accounting or finance. Prior knowledge of SAP or a similar accounting software is required, as are strong communication skills in English and Vietnamese.
